Odity & Fondazione Arché: Italian language courses to promote social and professional inclusion

Every year, Odity donates to an association supporting one of the Sustainable Development Goals prioritized by our “One Team, One Planet” CSR policy. This initiative helps fund a social or environmental impact project proposed by our employees through a call for projects.

Among the three projects selected by the Executive Committee, the one proposed by the Milan team, which offers Italian courses to vulnerable mothers in partnership with Fondazione Arché, was chosen. This project aligns with the SDG “Quality Education,” reflecting our commitment to inclusion, where language plays a vital role in fostering autonomy and integration.

“When I heard about this project, I immediately wanted to look for a link between our company, Odity, what we stand for, and what we could offer for a charity project. Indeed, in Odity Milan we are about 150 employees of different nationalities, and we represent at company level 7 languages. I have always appreciated and sought this diversity, and I must say that I completely find myself in a similar context. I have been lucky enough to have several experiences abroad, experiences rich in knowledge, cultural exchanges, and points of view that have opened my eyes and my mind to the world and to diversity.”
Maud, Customer Success Manager Odity Milan

“When Maud, a year and a half ago now, proposed to me to collaborate on this project, I immediately accepted and was very enthusiastic. Winning the company competition and being able to put our project into practice was a wonderful reward for our efforts. Since I have a background as a volunteer and rescuer with the Italian Red Cross, I know what it means to help others.”

About Fondazione Arché

Founded in 1991 in Milan, Fondazione Arché is dedicated to supporting vulnerable families, particularly mothers and their children, on their path to social and personal independence. With a vision of a more inclusive society, Arché focuses on housing assistance, education, and social integration.

Driven by values of solidarity and dignity, the foundation provides tangible solutions to rebuild lives and create sustainable futures, with the help of a committed network of volunteers and partners.

Italian language courses, a bridge to inclusion in Milan.

Starting in February 2024, thanks to Odity’s support, Fondazione Arché has launched a project of Italian language courses dedicated to vulnerable mothers taken in with their children in the communities and semi-autonomy flats in Milan.
The objective? To foster social and labour inclusion through the strengthening of language skills, an essential tool for more autonomous communication and access to new life opportunities.

Four women from complex personal experiences participated in the initiative; each of them found in these courses a concrete and useful support to imagine a better future. The lessons were held on a one-to-one basis, ensuring a customised approach, tailored to the women’s needs. Paolo, one of the volunteers involved, tells of M., an Ethiopian mother who, despite initial anxiety, tackled the course with determination, improving not only her language skills but also her self-confidence

Due to the attendance challenges caused by the heavy emotional burdens these women face daily, the Foundation adapted the initiative to support their children, thus addressing the immediate needs of the families.

These successes, though limited in number, represent remarkable progress in a context of great vulnerability, offering genuine hope for the future of these four women and their children.
They reflect deep resilience and personal transformation, showcasing the strength of these families and the attentive, compassionate support of Fondazione Arché.
Thanks to Odity’s donation, this essential support paves the way for a brighter future, grounded in dignity and autonomy.
